Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World

...You are light and love, God’s own child, A unique and wondrous design, worthy of all reverence and respect, Deserving above all your own most precious love that gradually inflames your entire being ... James Kavanaugh

"Remember. The way you make love is the way God will be with you." ~Rumi Heather's musings on the above quote by Rumi: “I was also pondering this and I think it has some pretty significant parallels to offer. (And I think the metaphor applies to our openness to others in every way, not just physical.) We can love with fear or hesitancy, with rules and taboos creating "acceptable" and "unacceptable" ways to love--we may reach ecstasy but only in prescribed ways, and we will think that is the only way. Communication can be stifled and strained, fulfilling neither our own or our partner's deepest desires; not tapping into our deepest potential for passion. And to us, God is in a box, we experience Him in a way we feel is correct; and dismiss or fear ways we perceive as "unacceptable" ways to experience the Divine--either longings deep in our own heart that we have suppressed or observing in others the beliefs and experiences they share of meeting Her. We are afraid to truly honor and listen to the God residing outside of the safe narrow path that we have followed. Part of us always feels separate from God. We can also cast aside our fear, sometimes over and over as we reach to step beyond our own boundaries. We can approach love without expectation, without judgment, with honesty, with passion, with open communication. And to us, God is an ever-expanding force; an ever widening experience beyond our wildest dreams. We find the Divine in unexpected places, follow It with curiosity and find ourselves in a deep rushing river of passion; teeming with life; our Universe opening up in surprising ways. Our communication with the Divine is spontaneous and real, full of the joy or pain of the moment; always with gratitude. We share our fears and the Universe gently helps us to overcome them; only when we are ready. We are truly One.” ~Heather Schulz Lowry

What a Wonderful World
I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself, What a wonderful world. I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark say goodnight And I think to myself, What a wonderful world. The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people goin' by I see friends shaking hands saying, "How do you do" They're really saying "I love you" I hear babies cry, I watch then grow They'll learn much more than I'll ever know And I think to myself, What a wonderful world Yes I think to myself, What a wonderful world. Oh yeah! Louie Armstrong
"We cannot learn from one another until we stop shouting at one another—until we speak quietly enough so that our words can be heard as well as our voices." Richard M. Nixon from his 1969 inaugural speech
